CRAVINGS

The alchemy of my complex mind,
Emits the strongest feelings of desire
With a longing for the unobtainable.
Unabated, ceaseless– it owns my life.

The pain so overwhelming,
It sinks the heart to stop its beat.
A life so broken by the pain and hurt
And constant rejection, so belittling and unfair.
The cravings continue with speed and pace
The evil demon shows no grace.

The devil shouts out loud– come on I dare
Be strong, don’t let him steal your dreams
The dark souls slink away, retreat
To hear no more the words you dread.
The sad young man has gone away
Please bring me just one sunny day.

Just listen to the quiet voice deep with your soul
As God alone can bring you home
Rebuild and focus in his call
And trust in the force that moves our lives
Believe and have faith
And just see what happens

A step at a time, stronger than ever
So simple it becomes a belief you are clever.
As the sun glints through the shadows, grey clouds recede
As you follow your heart and return to your life
Ever trusting your needs will be met
Never to return to sorrow and regret.

FEED THE BIRDS

It's that time of year and Christmas draws near,
The days ever shorter as winter descends.
So please feed your birds with whatever you can,
So much in decline- we can't let them go,
Such beautiful little creatures,
Bring jewels of delight.
Brown, black, greeny blue, speckled red, damson hue.

Just watch and enjoy it’s free and great fun,
So cute, very funny,
When all else seems drab.
Bring colour to your garden, and brighten your day,
Make this Christmas special with colour all aglow,
They are free to enjoy so now make a pledge,
To go out and feed them, just do it each day,
Then sit back, watch and wait,
And then they appear, like bright stars of light,
So pretty and colourful they gather to feed...and if you can
Spare some lovely mixed seed,
You will be rewarded in kind, with friends all around,
They even congregate on the cold icy ground,
So make it your mission...this winter so cold,
Lets all feed our birds,
Far too beautiful for mere words.

UNTITLED

Alcohol is a drug that can be totally addictive.
You think you’ve got it cracked but it worms its way back in
You think it’s your best friend,
Actually your friends desert you.
You know it’s ruining your life
And basically you just can’t win.
It makes you feel good, after feeling so bad.
And makes you want more.
Sometimes it makes you feel so ill.
You vomit, don't eat, have the s***s as well.
Sometimes you feel for it you could kill.
It destroys your brain
And give you pain.
Is it worth it?
NO.

MYTH

He dispelled his myth
It was his soul laid bare,
Left to burn in public gaze
Naked and angry were the eyes
Upon what remained,
Where did the beauty go that held
Him dear in his youth.
His screams began to fade, for
Summer was soon to pass,
And what love did he know,
But now, no one could answer.

HISSING SISTER

The empty spray can rolls away
The echo spinning round
Curved metal on the wooden floor
I sink towards the ground
Feel my body plunge into
The heat of total numb
My tongue is liquefied and dripping
Past my melting gums
New stretched across the ceilings
Vast and ever seeing eye
I see the music colours as their
Pulsing in the sky
I cannot move, my body's seeping
Through the floorboard cracks
Just watch the shadows swell
Slow-spreading deeper kinder blacks
I taste your kiss my hissing sister
Warming through my skull
I breathe you in and let you win
To drench my pain with dull
